WSWCA E-post: 9/23/09

ATTENTION: ARMED ROBBERS WANTED
Please be aware of the below incident and if the described vehicle is observed, contact 9-1-1 immediately and provide location, description of vehicle and occupants and the direction of travel. Also inform the 9-1-1 operator that the vehicle was used in an armed robbery on 09/23/09 at 300 S. 11th St.

On Wednesday, 09/23/09, 12:40 AM, complainant's were walking in the area of 300 S. 11th St. when approached by four (4) males. One of the males produced a silver handgun and demanded the purse of the female complainant, during this time the male complainant was punched twice by one of the other males. All of the offenders entered a dark green SUV, possibly a Jeep, with a partial Pa. tag # of DYX_ _ 89 and drove off, going east on Clinton St.

The offenders were described as: #1-Hispanic male with an olive complexion, 20 years old, 5'10", 180 lbs, thin build, thin mustache, short straight hair parted in the middle, wearing a dark gray hoodie. #2-Black male, 20 years old, 5'7", very thin build, light beard and mustache, wearing a red sweatshirt with white letters on the chest, dark blue jeans. #3-Hispanic male, 18 years old, 5'4", 150 lbs, thin build, wearing a light gray hoodie, blue jeans. #4-Black male, no further description

There was another male operating the vehicle, described as a black male, 20 years, dark complexion, beard and mustache, back plastic framed glasses.

Anyone who may have information concerning this robbery should contact Detective Goldstein at Central Detective Division- 215-686-3093 or 215-686-3094.

Anyone seeing any of the above described vehicle or offenders should call 9-1-1 immediately, do not take any actions, these males should be considered armed.

Wash West Incidents
The below incidents in the Wash. Sq. West area were recently reported to the 6th District:

(REPORT) On Monday, 09/14/09, between 9:30 AM and 1 PM, complainant's apartment in the 200 block S. 13th St. was entered without force and 2 laptops were taken. 6th District Officer Kelly attempted to lift latent finger prints at the scene.

(REPORT) On Monday, 09/14/09, between 8 AM and 7 PM, complainant's The below incidents in the Wash. Sq. West area were recently reported to the 6th District:

(REPORT) On Monday, 09/14/09, between 5 AM and 9 PM, complainant's bicycle was taken without permission from the 1100 block Spruce St.

(ARRESTS) On Monday, 09/14/09, 11 PM, complainant was confronted in the 1200 Spruce St. by 4 trans. males, one of which threatened and chased the complainant with a knife. The complainant notified 911, provided a description of the offender. 6th District bicycle was taken without permission from the 1000 block Spruce St.

(REPORT) On Monday, 09/14/09, between 5 AM and 9 PM, complainant's bicycle was taken without permission from the 1100 block Spruce St.

(ARRESTS) On Monday, 09/14/09, 11 PM, complainant was confronted in the 1200 Spruce St. by 4 trans. males, one of which threatened and chased the complainant with a knife. The complainant notified 911, provided a description of the offender. 6th District Officer Hartzell responded, observed the offender at Camac & Locust Sts., the offender fled, discarding a knife along the way, the officer pursued on foot to Broad & Chestnut Sts. where the apprehension was made. A second offender from the group of 4 picked up the discarded knife and attempted to leave the area with it. The 1st offender, age 18 with a South Phila. address was charged with Aggravated Assault and related offenses, the second offender, age 18 with a Camden, N.J. address was charged with Conspiracy and Tampering with Evidence.

(ARRESTS) On Tuesday, 09/15/09, 6:15 PM, based on information from 6th District officers and concerned citizens, the Narcotic Field Unit set up a surveillance of a resident of the Parker /Spruce Hotel, 261 S. 13th St. The resident was observed leaving the area in a taxi and was stopped a distance away and found to be in possession of powdered cocaine. A Search & Seizure warrant was obtained for his room inside the hotel where a quantity of bulk crack cocaine as well as packaged crack, packaged marijuana, a scale, money and 2 loaded handguns were found and seized. A second resident of the room was also taken into custody. The 25 and 19 year old offenders with addresses at the Parker/Spruce Hotel were charged with Possession With Intent to Deliver Illegal Narcotics, Violation of the Uniform Firearms Act and related offenses.

(REPORT) Between 4 PM, Thursday, 08/25/09 and 6:50 PM, Thursday, 09/17/09, complainant's 2007 Jeep, parked in the 1100 block of Spruce St. had the plastic windshield unzipped and CDs taken. This report was received by the DPR Unit via phone, police were not dispatched, therefore no latent prints were lifted.

(REPORT) On Friday, 09/18/09, 5 AM, out-of-town complainant parked her 2008 Pontiac in the 1200 block Spruce St. with the keys in the ignition. When she returned 20 minutes later the car had been taken without permission.

(REPORT) Between 10 PM, Friday, 09/18/09 and 7 PM, Saturday 09/19/09, complainant's apartment in the 1300 block Pine St. had a T.V. missing, there was no forced entry into the property. 6th District Officer Maiorano lifted latent finger prints from the scene.

(REPORT) On Sunday, 09/20/09, 5:09 AM, police responded to an alarm at the hair salon, 234 S. 11th St. and found the front door open, no apparent force. The cash register was on the floor, owner and police walked through the property, nobody found inside, there was nothing taken.
