WSWCA E-post: 12/18/09

Attack of the Leaves
Because the City of Philadelphia stopped deploying their street sweepers on December 1, the WSWCA concluded that an organized street cleanup in December was too much work for too few people. We're currently putting our energy into planning a January cleanup to make up for lost time and fallen leaves. Those of you who volunteered to help with the effort will be contacted shortly to begin the process.

In the meantime, we ask that all Wash West residents take a few extra moments to sweep and bag the leaves not only on their sidewalks, but whatever they can collect from the curbsides. This extra effort will avoid blocking storm drains, help minimize flooding, and make the entire neighborhood safer once snow arrives! (Although considering tomorrow's storm, this advice may be a TAD late. Enjoy the white stuff, everyone!)

Seger Park Holiday Party
The Seger Advisory Council hosts its annual HOLIDAY PARTY inside the Seger Rec building on Monday Dec. 21st from 3-5:30 pm, and again from 7:30-9pm; come on in for a nibble and some facetime with your neighbors!
