Meeting Re: 1213 Walnut
The WSWCA Zoning and Governmental Affairs will be holding another meeting regarding the proposed high-rise at 1213 Walnut. This would be the largest building in our neighborhood, so you are strongly encouraged to attend.

The meeting will be at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, June 16th, in Room 210-11 of Dorrance Hamilton Building, 11th & Locust.

Community Meeting on the Market Street East Plan
The City Planning Commission is holding a meeting on the Draft Plan of the Market Street East Strategic Plan.

It will be held at the Center for Architecture on 1216 Arch Street, on Tuesday June 23, at 6:30 pm. All are invited to attend. For more information contact Laura Spina at 215-683-4638.

Big Belly Placement Map
After consulting with the WSWCA Board and community members, the Streets Department has announced the placement of its Big Belly trash and recycling bins. These solar-powered compactors will be on many of the main intersections in Wash West, and hopefully will make a difference in street and sidewalk littering. We also hope they will discourage illegal dumping of household trash. They should be going up within the next month or so.

To view a map of where to find a Big Belly near you, click here. Yellow dots represent trash receptacles, and green dots represent trash/recycling receptacles.

More Good News from Streets Dept
Both Pine and Spruce Streets are on the schedule to be repaved, sometime before the fall. Let's just hope that the budget crunch doesn't affect the project.
